How does Green Lipped Mussel Powder work?

New Zealand Green Lipped Mussels contain glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) as well as high levels of unsaturated fatty acids. Animals are often not capable of producing the required quantities of GAGs on their own, and so the supplementation of GAGs provides long-term benefits to support joints and tendons.

Green Lipped Mussels also contain a fatty acid called ETA, which decreases the production of cyclooxygenase, an enzyme causing inflammation. This results in less pain, less inflammation, and improved mobility for your pet.

The mussels are also a rich source of glucosamine and chondroitin, vitamins C and E, antioxidants, and minerals such as copper, zinc, and selenium, all of which are vital to your pets joint health.

Our Green Lipped Mussels come from a licensed marine farm in New Zealand. There, the mussels are processed as a whole by gentle freeze-drying. This process ensures that the original nutrients are almost completely preserved. We are not extracting any powder obtained, so that our product retains a fat content of 8%. A high fat content is considered a quality feature, as it also ensures high content of essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. This product is free from any artificial additives, fillers or cereals.

Feeding Recommendation

Simply mix the powder into your pets feed:

Dogs per 10 kg: 0.5 g daily

Cats: 0.5 g daily

(1 measuring spoon = 2g)

If required, the amount given may be increased to up to double the recommendation depending on the severity of complaints. For the first 3 – 5 days, build up your pets tolerance byfeeding 50% of the daily feeding recommendation.
